How it works

<a href="http://www.fathersreunited.co.uk/private/"><!-- not for robots --></a>

If you are new to the Fathers Reunited website, here is some information on how the site works.

Fathers Reunited gives relatives - including fathers, sons and daughters - who have lost contact with each other, the opportunity to make contact again.

You can do this by:-

a) adding your name/details to the register so that your name appears on the database

b) searching the database for the missing person

c) making contact with someone on the database

To view the database, you must first log in via the User Menu on the Home Page. You can do this as soon as you have  registered your details and become a full member of Fathers Reunited.

If you wish to add your name and basic details to the database, fill in your details on the Registration Page. This means that you will become a basic member of this website. To register, you should add your name and details of the person(s) you are seeking. This means that your name will appear on our database, so that people who are searching for you can find you. The person you are looking for will appear as "father", "son", "daughter", etc. The place (ie county) you are now living at will also appear. You will need to include your address and a contact number in this section, though this is not visible on the database. Once you register you will receive a confirmation e-mail with your user name and password. If you don't receive an e-mail from us within 24 hours, it means that you haven't given a correct e-mail address and will need to register again.

PLEASE NOTE - YOU ONLY NEED TO ADD YOUR NAME ONCE FOR THE PERSON YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. ANY EXTRA REPEATED NAMES WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE REMOVED FROM THE DATABASE.  YOU SHOULD BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER TO REGISTER.

If you are adopted you are strongly urged to read our Adoption Advice Page for details on how you stand legally when making contact with your birth father or birth mother.

If you want to change any of your contact details or see if anyone has sent you a message you need to log in first using the members "log in" box on the Home Page

If you wish to search the database of members, or make contact with a lost relative on the database, or add a message to your entry on the database, you will need to become a full member of this website. To do this you should go to the full members sign up page.

Once you become a full member, you can:-

  • Search through the thousands of names on our database
  • Check to see if you have received any messages from other people on the database
  • Write a personal message under your entry on the site database for other members to read
  • Add a photograph of yourself if you wish
  • Make contact with any lost relatives or friends who are on the database by sending them a private message

You can view our database by pressing on the USER MENU in the MEMBERS box on the top right hand side of the Home Page providing you are a full member of Fathers Reunited.  The user menu contains link buttons to the following: Your Messages, Search members, Edit Personal Information and Change Password.

Please remember to keep looking on the Search Page every few days as new names are being added to the Fathers Reunited database every day.
