How it works

If you are new to the Fathers Reunited website, here is some information on how the site works.

Fathers Reunited gives relatives - including fathers, sons and daughters - who have lost contact with each other, the opportunity to make contact again.

You can do this by:-

a) adding your name/details to the register so that your name appears on the database

b) searching the database for the missing person

c) making contact with someone on the database

To view the database, you must first log in via the User Menu on the Home Page. You can do this as soon as you have registered your details and joined Fathers Reunited.

If you wish to become a member of Fathers Reunited  first you will need to add your name and basic details to the database on the Registration Page. You should add your name and details of the person(s) you are seeking. This means that your name will appear on our database, so that people who are searching for you can find you. The person you are looking for will appear as "father", "son", "daughter", etc. The place (ie county) you are now living at will also appear. You will need to include your address and a contact number in this section, though this is not visible on the database and will not be passed onto third parties. You will then need to pay a one off administration fee of £10 which is securely processed through Pay Pal. You don't have to be a member of Pay Pal  for this as they accept all credit/debit cards. There are no other costs involved. Once you register you will receive a confirmation e-mail with your user name and password. If you don't receive an e-mail from us within 24 hours, please contact us.

PLEASE NOTE - YOU SHOULD BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER TO REGISTER.

If you are adopted you are strongly urged to read our Adoption Advice Page for details on how you stand legally when making contact with your birth father or birth mother.

Once you join Fathers Reunited, you can:-

  • Search through the thousands of names on our database
  • Check to see if you have received any messages from other people on the database
  • Write a personal message under your entry on the site database for other members to read
  • Add a photograph of yourself if you wish
  • Make contact with any lost relatives or friends who are on the database by sending them a private message

You can view our database by pressing on the USER MENU in the MEMBERS box on the top right hand side of the Home Page providing you are a member of Fathers Reunited.  The user menu contains these link buttons to the following: Your Messages, Search members, Edit Personal Information and Change Password.

Please remember to keep looking on the Search Page every few days as new names are being added to the Fathers Reunited database every day.
